New area added to mission boundaries

Elder Brimhall was unable to get to an internet cafe to write home this week. He asked Sis. Clawson at the mission home to please update his parents that all is well and not to worry. She shared President Clawson’s weekly email. See excerpts below…

We’ve had some exciting times here…see the latest in President’s weekly letter:

I am excited that the Kissy Stake was created yesterday.  We are grateful for the dedicated service from the District Presidency.

We are also excited that the Church announced during the week this past week that the city of Conakry in the country of Guinea is open for missionary work and has been added to the Sierra Leone Freetown Mission.    Elder Vinson traveled there this weekend and yesterday he created the new Conakry Branch.  My wife and I will travel there in two weeks.  Since Guinea is French-speaking, I will get a chance to practice my French!

The Bo West District Conference is this coming weekend, with the Presiding Authority Elder J.K. Chukwuemeka Igwe.  I am happy that the Bo West District is acting like a stake.  Thanks to all the missionaries in the mission who are helping their branches and districts get closer to being ready to be stakes.

We sent off two well-prepared Sister Missionaries to the MTC from Kenema and Bo.  Sister Tangbo is headed to the Nigeria Owerri mission and Sister Willie will learn French on her way the Cote d’Ivoire Abijan mission.
